Doing a little re-cap of what I've been sketching out for the first week of Drawcember. For those of you who don't know what that is, its a lot like NaNoWriMo, where you do a drawing a day. Most people go a lot more in-depth, doing a fully rendered comic page a day, or a whole painting, or a completely different art style each day, but I use it as a way to keep up the discipline of producing a daily level of artwork. I've definitely been slacking.
BUT! Here's my first seven days of Drawcember (not necessarily in order:
Some of these I'll go back later and re-tool and finish into paintings, I hope.

Music for Beasts
Here's a pair of sketches I plan to do a little more with, hopefully for a series of watercolors. I'm a big fan of how the violinist turned out. Still tweaking the bear and his ity-bity fan girl. In the works are a flute-playing wolf and a goat bassist.

Faces
Played around with portraiture today, not sure where I'm going with it just yet. Even tough I picked and chose which shadows I drew out each time, I think they turned out fine. I'm not one for selfies, but I had no other model but my own stupid face.
I should brush my hair.

and even more fauns
So, coffee never happened. Instead, more fauns happened. And now, I think I'm going to go get another tattoo.
Here he is with the flowers sans all color and texture... and the texturing still is what needs a lot of work. Going to come back to that in a bit. Want to step away to get my head into something else for a bit, so I can focus better. Still off-kilter.

Brewing Up New Ideas
Over the past year or so, the majority of my friends have turned into homebrewers and, since we're all in the SCA now, we're all drinking and making mead. We're dorky like that. If by dorky you mean ripped guys who fight broadsword tournaments before getting hammered on homemade beer made from honey gathered from swarms of bees, because harvesting wheat and hops is apparently too easy.
Anyway, I made some punny beer labels for my household, Surtr's Brood:
More later!

Heralding a Return
So, a few years (and a new computer) later, I revisit my old blog. I'm still dabbling in art, and still haven't tried to make a career out of my hobby. BUT after joining the SCA I've gotten into working with heraldry. So, before I go back to posting about pin ups and zombies and rock n' roll, here's some of that:
