slowly but surely....

alright, been doing a bit more on the one with the green chick in the pink dress. i started with this photo:

no clue who she is, but, she agreed to sit for a picture. anyway, then i did this...

and that blue bit was due to that weird bug in my software (i think, since it keeps happening). and now i've got this:

which i do like, but it needs a lot of finageling.

also, i've been digging up a lot of my old tattoo flash, and I'm gonna start posting that today.

Still not asleep... Who cares

this is only, really, half done. big plans for it. but I think this "mid-way point" could be a finished piece on its own....

...maybe I'm just tired.

I SHOULD BE SLEEPING

So, as much as I need to be at work early, I remembered I had this picture....
....from a concert at the Bleekman Beer Garden. No clue who she is, but she agreed to pose for a picture. So I made this....

But at first the computer put out this... which I also like.

Graphicatin'

Spending the day at the Beekman Beer garden again, taking pics of the band and the crowd for future projects. But wanted to first share some graphics I made over the past day or two; I'm pretty pleased with them.

Yep, that yellow one is Sharon Foo of the Raveonettes; I'm gonna paint a giant version of that graphic, I'm thinking 7' x 6'. The other one was simple to do, yet I love it so so much. The ankles need a bit of work, but I kinda like the wrinkliness. I plan to use it on a rock poster or album cover or something. It just seems made for it.

Dot Dot Dot

Just a quick update on where I'm going with the paintings I'm doing with those rock show pictures I posted last time. Here's a sample:

Not very impressive just yet. Did that by hand in Flash, 'cause I don't have the money for Photoshop. Gonna add the legs today, not sure what to do about the shirt, maybe just a solid block? Yeah, I like that.

And speaking of girls fulla holes....

That was a fun project. Local airfield let me go through their scrap and take away a wing of a place, then I painted a hot transvestite on it, set it on fire, and shot it with a gun. Wow, that sounded homophobic... I DIDN'T mean to burn and shoot her in effigy, I just wanted it to look like she'd been through the war, and still was hot.

Her eyebrows came out awful.

Anyway, I'll post more about the rock pics later.

brand damned new project

Well, I've decided to cool it on the tattoo-style artwork for a while, not that I've actually posted much of it. I'm about half way through a triptych, shown below, but I keep coming back to the first painting, the finished one here:
(I'm halfway through this next one)
...needs a lot of work.

But that first one is something I want to work with. Specifically, with the following pictures. And some 2' x 8' masonite.

Yep, went to a killer Eternal Summers / Raveonettes concert. And I'm gonna do something real awesome with these photos; I'll keep you all posted.

Pinin' it Up

So, I've kind of fallen in love with the idea of zombie pin ups. Just FYI.

This next one is, funnily enough, made up of the legs of one of my friends, and the top half of another one of my friends.

This actually wasn't supposed to be a zombie chick... but then when I drew her I realized no torso could bend like that, 'cause it'd rip or stretch or something. So...
This next one's my favorite, though. Not too sure about the blue drippy bits...

And this one's not done, still needs the out line put in. They're all oil on chunks of wood that I sanded down, then I use an 08 liner to ink the outlines. Makes it really pop. Sometimes I go back with an 01 and ink in a few details, like with the hand of the blonde in the pink dress at the top there.
Got a few more in the works, I'll post when they're all done.

Starlets Make me Get Wood

Heh. I'm sorry for the crass title. Here's what I've got so far: all oil on plywood.

Dirty Martini (of Coney Island fame) with some seed pods pressed into her hair, along with a few guitar strings... which keep falling off. She's, like 20% done. Sooooo much more to do on her...

Lulu Brooks with snake... I'm really not happy with the way her eyes turned out, and I honestly have no clue what to do at her hips... maybe some billowy sheer fabric or something?
 Gretta Garbo with tentacles...
And finally, Lily St Cyr in faun form:

Once I've got more work done on them I'll re-post.

Blog Post: Take Two

Well, I woke up this morning and figured I'd get some orange juice from the fridge. Turns out "casual taxidermy" is a thing, since some of my dorm-mates were keeping their squirrels in a shoebox in the fridge. I went to a diner for breakfast.

On that note, here's what I've been doing:

Also, I did a little more work on one of the scans I put up last time. Here it is now:

I plan to do a couple different things with this once I get to the color. I'll post all the versions and poll for the best one. Thanks for stopping by, and I'd appreciate your feedback.

Blogging: Take One

Alright.
Pretty new to this, so please bear with me. Ahem.

I set this up primarily to get some of the all-too-honest feedback the interwebs can provide for my artwork, and to occasionally entertain with a funny story. Most of these you can get on a t-shirt at my cafepress shop (the pictures, not the stories, unless one becomes a meme or something). All work is mine unless I say otherwise, and I'd like to keep it that way. If you want to use any of the pictures for whatever reason, please let me know first. I'll probably say yes.

So, without further ado, here's some pictures.
This one was submitted to the Future Perfect Contest that Beautiful/Decay is hosting.

Awesome.

There're a few things I'm working on right now, which are still in sketch mode. Here's a sample:
